About Embodiment

In the dictionary, Embodiment is defined as the process of giving physical form or representation to abstract concepts or ideas. It involves manifesting intangible thoughts, emotions, or beliefs into tangible and perceivable entities.

But Embodiment is much more than that, it is "the way we are, the way we feel, relate and do". Beyond body awareness, it represents the bridge between our internal experiences and the external world, providing a means for self-expression and understanding. A person's embodiment is influenced by their personal history but also by many relational and contextual layers.

Embodiment as a field comes from a variety of body-mind disciplines such as martial arts, meditation, yoga, bodywork, somatic psychotherapies, improvisation or conscious dance. At its heart lies growing awareness of our current state and regular patterns, building range to develop new skills and empowering us with the ability to make conscious choices.
